I am very pleased to inform you that you have been selected as the Southern California Law Firm recipient of the 1995 President's Pro Bono awards. You were chosen by the Board of Governors of the State Bar of California for outstanding contributions of pro bono legal services on behalf of California's poor and disadvantaged.

Please join me and the Board of Governors at a special reception where you and the other award recipients will be honored during the State Bar Annual Meeting. The Pro Bono reception will be held on Friday, September 29, 1995 from 5-7pm at the Sheraton-Palace in San Francisco. Invitations to the reception will be mailed under separate cover. Sharon Ngim of the State Bar's Office of Legal Services staff will be contacting you concerning your involvement in the awards ceremony.

Susan Mattox of the State Bar Office of Legal Services staff will be contacting you to obtain information and a black and white passport-size photograph needed immediately for the production of the 1995 President's Pro Bono Service Awards booklet. The booklet features all award recipients and is distributed at the reception.

On behalf of the State Bar of California, congratulations. Your achievements have brought great honor to the entire legal profession. I look forward to meeting you at the reception.

Congratulations! I am delighted to inform you that Laturno & Graves has been selected as one of three final candidates for the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program's Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year Award for 1994.

As A firm which donated so much of your time and talent in 1994 on behalf of SDVLP's indigent clients, you have earned out great esteem and gratitude. We would like you or a designee, and a companion to be our guests at the Justice For All Awards Dinner, to be held on Friday evening, June 2, at the Sheraton Harbor Island East Hotel. A reception is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., with dinner immediately following. The keynote speaker this year is U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer.

The award winner will be announced at the dinner, Academy-Awards style. We request that you or your designee contact volunteer attorney, John Morris as soon as possible. John is producing a video to be shown at the Awards presentation. John will interview you or your designee about your pro bono work and hwy you do it. Because of the short deadline, we would appreciate accommodating your schedule to John's as much as possible and to arrange to be interviewed at his office where he will have the video camera set up.

I recently read that you are being honored by the State Bar of California for your volunteer work representing clients in employment matters in the San Diego Union-Tribune. I wanted to take a moment and personally add my commendation to that of the State Bar for your work.

You were willing to step forward and address a need in our community, simply because it was the right thing to do. Your actions represent the highest form of public service.
